Our past week has been pretty uneventful. It's been a nice break from our extremely busy summer! I have decided to start selling my bows and some other items that I make on a website called Etsy. I have always kind of wanted to do it, but for the past couple of years I haven't gotten up enough nerves up to actually do it. Scott finally gave me the boost I really needed to start. I couldn't ask for a more supportive husband. He is always wanting me to do the most I can with my talents and encourage me to grow and develop them. So, I finally did it! I am so excited, but a little nervous... I hope that I don't get too sad if it turns out to be a dud :) But, in Scott's words "How are you ever going to know if you don't even try?" And hopefully, it will give us a little bit of "fun" money if it does OK. Anyway, that's just a little about what's going on with us... Now for the fun part, PAIGE!
Oh, what a personality our little Paige is developing! She is so busy... always into everything and wanting to be in everything that she can't! She imitates just about everything that we do. She loves to fold her arms, not for long, but when you ask her to fold her arms she does. She loves to hold our fingers as she walks, won't do it on her own yet. Oh well, they all grow at their own pace don't they? :) She loves to sing along with the primary songs in the car, so cute! She now knows where her nose and tummy are. Although, when she points to her nose it goes straight in her nostril and she thinks that it is hilarious! She also thinks every animal is Moo. We have been trying to work on animals and their sounds, so she points to anything that is an animal and says Moo. We are working on that one. She does know the difference between an elephant though. She LOVES the sound an elephant makes. She tries to imitate us doing it (sadly, Paige does a better job at it than Scott does, Sorry Scott!:) ) We were sitting in church today and she actually pointed to an elephant that was in her Noah's Ark book and made the sound. So cute, I smiled all over! I was a proud mom!
As far as eating goes, we have finally found a meat that she will always eat, no matter her mood. Turkey sausage links... Thanks for leaving those Emily! And she absolutely loves frozen peas. I know frozen, kinda weird. It's probably feels really good on her little teething gums. Here's a pic that we caught of her this past week. Pea on her nose! She was sticking them to her face. Always doing something silly! :) What a girl
So, the other morning I heard Paige making some noise on the baby monitor. It was a little early for her so I laid there hoping she might fall back asleep. She did get very quiet and I just felt like it was a little to quiet, for those of you who are parents you know what I mean. They are up to something, so I went to go check on her. And of course, what do I find...
We have a canopy above her bed and she somehow got her little fingers through the two slats in the back of her crib and fished the tulle back through the two holes, pulling it all off the ceiling. I knew she was being too quiet! But what could I do but smile and think these are the moments that I love and will always remember!
The other day I was cleaning the kitchen and was wiping down the fridge. It's incredible how much your children truly watch every little thing you do. Paige was sitting on the floor watching me and as I finished she approached me and reached for the towel. So I gave it to her. I turned my back to start on the dishes and I turn around and she is "cleaning" the fridge. What a fun moment!
She did this for about 20 minutes. That is a long, and I mean LONG, time for Paige to do sit and do anything. After she got tired of wiping down the fridge, which she did a mighty good job I might add, with the exception of the hand prints from her left hand :) she proceeded to play with the towel putting it over her head. She was chasing me around the kitchen looking for me with the towel over her head. When she would find me she would LAUGH so hard! She even ran into the cupboards a couple of times, which made us laugh even harder!
Mommy's little helper!
Paige loves her whole grain pancakes... I don't know if I have ever mentioned, but if Paige likes something she says Mmmm after taking every bite. That is a very usual occurrence around our house and I love it! So cute!
We don't have cable, so we only get the public stations. And one of the stations that we get is PBS, I absolutely love it! It has so many awesome learning programs for kids. Paige loves Sesame Street! It comes on every weekday at 10 am. If she is not already all down for her nap, she loves to sit and watch it. This, surprisingly, is about one of the only things that I can get her to sit and do for longer than a few minutes at a time. She will literally sit there for almost the entire show, until Elmo's World at the end. And sometimes she will even watch all of it. Here is a picture that we got of her a few days ago... she was sitting there on the floor looking very uncomfortable and so I got her some pillows. Awww... these are the moments!
Have I mentioned how much I love being a Mom!?!? :)
